My parents and I were invited to the launch of Grayson’s Art Club exhibition and got to see my painting unveiled alongside works by the great man and a whole host of wildly talented professional, amateur and celebrity artists.
I gave up dreams of becoming an artist years ago, so it feels beyond surreal to finally and officially be an exhibited artist…and even if it's just this once, I’m following the message behind my artwork to savour every moment.
If you find yourself in Birmingham between now and April 2023, make sure you drop in to the MAC gallery to see the exhibition, it’s wonderful (I’m not just saying that!)
My painting goes on show at MAC Birmingham
Between December 2022 and April 2023, my painting will be exhibited alongside works by the great man Grayson Perry himself, as well as Bill Bailey, Jo Brand, Joe Wilkinson, Mawaan Rizwan, Katy Wix and Dame Prue Leith, and all the wildly talented people who featured in the TV series.

Angell Brothers are "creators you need to know"
Our trusted colleague Siobhan Crawford kindly called out the Angell Brothers as format creators you need to know in her column, describing us as “dedicated creatives who also work in the branded content space.”
Huey & I feature in Grayson's Art Club on Channel 4
Watch: Season 3, Episode 6 - The Future
I ticked a major item off my bucket list, when my baby Huey and I appeared on one of my favourite TV shows 'Grayson Perry's Art Club' on Channel 4.
Why did I make an artwork for the show around the theme of the future?
Huey was born with a serious congenital heart defect - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome - which requires multiple open heart surgeries and medical intervention to ensure his survival and will very likely decrease his life expectancy.
I felt compelled to make this painting, entitled 'Death Is At Our Dinner Table', as my way of making sense of Huey's condition.
It has totally reframed our relationship to the future.
It’s brought his, and our own, mortality much more into focus.
So in the picture, I've depicted my family and I inviting death to our table.
We’re breaking bread with it, accepting its outsized and looming presence in our lives now, and trying to make the best of it.
The enduring message is that we need to make the most of the here and now.
Thank you to Swan Films and Joe Evans for letting me share my artwork and story. It was such an honour to feature on this wonderful programme.
If anyone's interested in supporting, please donate to The Brompton Fountain charity, which has done so much for us and all the other families at the hospital affected by heart and lung conditions.
